American Frontier Entrepreneurship
Early professions in Park County included mining, but also ranching, and timbering with the development of the railroad. As towns and settlements increased in population, general stores and saloons began to make their appearance, many of them catering to the needs of miners.
The business that emerged were a reflection of the wants and needs of its residents- such as mining equipment, clothes, general goods, etc. Recreational buildings began to spring up as well, as many traveled to and from Park County on the Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad.
