With the arrival of the railroad in Park County, hotels were built to accomidate visitors eager to escape city life. Park County became a popular summer destination, and businessmen invested in Park County recreation. [1]

The Pacific Hotel in Como recieved many visitors due to its proximinty to the railroad depot. The hotel hosted many activities for citizens and visitors, such as balls and banquets.
