Invaders and Outlaws
Along with the strife of nature, The American West was no stranger to the violence of outlaws. Mines, ranches, and stagecoaches in Park County were targets of robbery from traveling bands of outlaws.
A famous tale depicts a band outlaws called the Reynold's brothers - a group of confederate sympathizers who came to Park County to rob gold fields to gain money for the South. It is said the outlaws hid their money before being captured, but to this day, the alleged treature has not been found.
